Diminishing Artistry
When no extra time or efforts needed to keep up with writing as it came in the natural flow of habits.
Habits that needed patience, mindful thinking and articulating emotions. Distant communications were dominated by writing letters, letters that are not mere sentences made of words hanging loosely, but artistry.
Texting of nowadays is undoubtedly convenient but in the test of history, might not hold the weight to pull some other person to ransack meanings.
In 2026, I am reading some letters that were written in 1920. Everyone, back then relied on letters and didn't think that their way of communicating might run out as an extinct habit of the future. Even if, I (hypothetically) become a celebrated writer posthumously, there will be no mortal being in 2126 reading my online texts to my partner, but those letters of 1920 & 2023.
It's transcending to read how people, a century back, not just conveyed messages but also their feelings, they gave a chance to other's to get hold of their internal thoughts, reasons and minds. Texting is instant, but slang warped the beauty of language and gravity of artistic depth.
Scientifically, writing letters gives an opportunity for journaling, biulding calm connections in brain neural network and an outlet to one's trapped feelings. Texting on the other hand rewards efficiency over expression. At the core, humans are not robots. Deviation is much needed, thus a life with and without technology must coexist.
Gone are the days, when daily letters become a part of cherished works of today. Now, even the curated content is slop.
